Decisions, Decisions

A couple of weeks ago we had Zuzu's Six Month Photo Session with the super nice and talented Katie Beach of Katie Beach Photography.  Zuzu had a bit of a runny nose, but she was cooperative for the photo session and showed us all kinds of personality!

Now we are trying to choose what photos to order.  I bought the CD from our session so I can get all several of them in 4x6's for the album, and I'll some as gifts for relatives and extra prints for us to frame here and there, but I think I want to order a really large print or canvas of our favorite photo.

The problem is deciding which one is our favorite.

It's difficult when they each seem to capture a different side of Zuzu's personality.  And we can't help but find her absolutely adorable in all of them.

So... David suggested that we turn it over to the blog.  I'm putting it up to a vote!  There are seven options.  Majority rules.  Voting will be open until next Saturday.

HOW TO VOTE:  If you look over to the sidebar, under the Blogher links there is the poll so you can choose your favorite option and submit it.  (You can also make a case for your favorite in the comments.  Because I'm clearly expecting all blog readers to have VERY STRONG FEELINGS about my special snowflake's portrait).

Now, the options:

option 1

option 2

option 3

option 4

option 5

option 6

option 7
Now remember, we will probably be ordering ALL of prints listed here, but this vote is for the big print or canvas that I'm thinking will hang in our bedroom (next to Eliza's pencil portrait).  I thought I wanted more of an up-close of her face, but the two of her whole body on the chair are just so cute (option 7 makes me laugh) so I can't decide.  I need a more objective opinion!  Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Also: Can you believe that six months ago, this was Zuzu?:

  1. Hmm, it doesn't look like my vote stuck. I chose Option 4, although Option 2 is a very close second! Really, I love them all... <3

  2. SWEETNESS! I love them all. Probably my favorites are 2, 4, and 7. 7 because you said it makes you laugh, and I'm always in favor of pictures that bring that kind of delight. I'd pick 4 over 2, but only barely. There's some expression in her eye in 2 that doesn't seem to be anywhere else, and I suspect it's one of those facets of her personality coming through. How to choose?!

  5. So cute! I pick 4. Something about a smiling baby...

  6. I voted for 4, but also would pick 7 if it let me have 2 votes.

  7. My phone doesnot show the sidebar, so I am giving my vote here. I love 7. She looks so poised and calm, yet childish and naughty in the same. Also, like she is upto something!! I suggest crop up 7 and make the canvas out of it. indeed all pics r nice though. I have to check out this photographer. 7 is indeed a special moment.

  8. Very hard to choose - at least you can't make a mistake. There is something about #2 that I really love, but I agree that the smiles are sweet. Maybe it's that I love me some sweet baby heads - and you can see that sweet shape and the baby fine hair so much more with the smaller headband. That could just be me too - I tend to like less bow than more bow.

We have a very similar portrait of Ella at six months that looks like #2, and I still love it so when I look at it. She had a little more hair, but that baby head is such a signature for this age that I love the focus on it. You'll look back on it for ages and remember just how much you loved the feeling of that head on your cheek or under your chin.

Those are the best kind of portraits.

PS. I'm not helping here at all, because I also love those full body-balanced-sitting tall ones. After this, all photo shoots will be of her in motion - capturing those early sitting ones are also super nostaglia-producing.

  9. My vote is for #4 - and by the way, it is impossible to say one picture is better than all the others. I just think #4 captures the essence of Zuzu - and she looks very much in this picture like her Mom did in a picture at what must have been very close to the same age. Peggy

  10. I picked number 7- I freaking love them all and I really don't think you can go wrong.. It's just the composition of the photo is so beautiful. And she's so friggin' cute.

I'm not helping, but you should know I end up buying at least twice the minimum everytime I get photos done of Grace because I just can't stand the thought of not having them all.

    I love her.

  11. Another thought- #7 and her newborn picture (:swoon:) as a side by side would be a beautiful print for family. Beautiful.

  12. I can't get over those big eyes and pouty lips in option 2! That's my vote!!

  13. I LOVE option 3...it doesn't look posed (not that any of them do), and she just looks so darn happy. I love the smile, her bow, and the way her eyes are shining! Great pictures of such a gorgeous baby. Good luck deciding!

  14. OMG these pictures are freaking adorable!!! I love 3 and 4- that smile is awesome! Good luck deciding!

  15. 7 is adorable and I agree with Laura that side by side with the newborn it would be super cute, so I say put it in the middle of three 4x6's of newborn, 6 mo, and 12 month - all in that chair. For the big canvas I say a closer up of that sweet face. I will vote when I'm not on my phone and can stew over my decision more.

Also, not cool of David to turn this to the blog. It's like you said "I don't care where we eat, you can pick" and that's SO not fair!

  16. Ok, 4 or 2. I may have to vote twice. If you pick 4, then can I have a large print of 2? :)

  17. I'm on my phone so no voting options but by far my favorite is 7!!

  20. I just want you to know that I think it's cruel I was only allowed to choose one.

  21. I was so torn between 1 and 4 but since I saw that so many people were leaning towards 4 and there were no votes for 1, I went with 4 since I like to be on a winning team. I think they are all amazing and you can't make a bad choice!

  22. 2 or 4!! Oh my goodness she is cute and she just looks like she is FUN too <3

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, how will you pick!!

    I picked 6, but I love 1 - 4 and 5... And my goodness, 7 is too much!

    She's a doll, really

  24. I love 4. They are all sweet but 4 grabbed me by the hand and said, "Common' really, i'm the best!". lol
Can't wait to hear which one you choose-

  25. 2 and 4 are my favorites (but in the opposite order) and 7 made me burst out laughing so I think I'd enjoy looking at that regularly just to add a different caption every time. (Typed this then saw the actual vote thingamajig so....4).

  26. Oh but I love number one! No one picked number one!

  27. I can't pick just one! Dennis and I were just saying we needed a new Caro picture b/c Mia likes to say "Baby Caroline" when we she's the birth announcement on the fridge (she calls Duck, Ducky :) For your vote, I would probably go with #3. But I HAVE to get a small print of #7 for our fridge. I LOVE IT!!!
